Uhh maybe?
Its where coffee comes from
Guess Volvo ain’t worried about the recession they just ordered 350 fancy pants WiFi connected machines....that’s well over a million buckaroos in coffee machines.... lol
There’s only one part in there I didn’t make
Thanks Volvo :)
That’ll keep me busy till the end of August at least
(edit) uhh... actually... theres 3 parts i didnt make...2 print plates and a relay...everything else is made inhouse

Where do put the eggs?

depends... do you want em scrambled or boiled?
clear canister feeds into the grinder...that’d be scrambled
the white ones should just boil em

Looking at the preview I thought Volvo was installing 3D printers in their parts departments. For easily broken plastic parts this would be a great way to make what is needed when it’s needed, especially for older cars.

hmm...i dont build 3d printers...but thats a fantastic idea!
i hate it
thats the kind of innovation that killed my career
/me is a certified obsolete panelbeater
curse you cheap parts!

Now that looks like fun! I used to help build little precision 2.5 and 3d circuit board cutting mills - 1/4mil accuracy and 200+ k precision. All those little parts go just there. A nd the process to get them in place at the right time. T hen the satisfaction when the damn thing actually does what it’s supposed to. There’s a zen in the building and adjusting. Good on ya.

the pay is crap...but i do enjoy the work
i mean shit.... how often do you get a job that lets you do everything from welding to final assembly?
![]() 07/11/2020 at 04:52 |

Yup, fabrication, mechanical, electrical and electronics. All of it! So learn all ya can here and look for somewhere else to apply parts of it for more money. Skills are never lost.
My pay was crap, too, but I was already retired and just looking for something to do when I built the mils. Got to do a lot of research, too.

And take a few pictures. As long as no logos or real trade secrets involved. Closeups of wire looms, metal fabs, tricky bits, stuff you built. E ven pics of yer workspace (order, cleanliness). I lost a few good contracts because I didn’t save off some of my code snippits or design documents in my early days . As long as no _ real_ trade secrets are taken.

no trade secrets here...nothing mysterious about coffee machines
its design that sets us apart and lets us charge up to 8 grand a machine...lol
(tho..tbh...its the crematorium models that make our bread..not the customs...)
need 20 gallons of coffee in 10 minutes?...we got you

That sure is a pretty machine! Industrial designers were busy there. But the devil is in the details to make it work. That is the fun part. You know what’s inside and what it took to get there.

Are you 537 or 854?
![]() 07/11/2020 at 07:35 |

im 131
my stamps are on the bits..i dont get the flashy outside of the machine most of the time .... lol

I thought the same thing!

Why does a coffee machine need to be connected to WiFi?
![]() 07/11/2020 at 09:19 |

I have gathered a few race cars with numbers 131. You get to choose which one.

So they can determine how many cups you drink when they’re determining how much to add to your invoice for “miscellaneous shop fees”.
My real guess is it probably includes a service contract, and it reports any maintenance issues and tells someone when it needs refilled with coffee, cream, sugar, etc.

Is this the model I’ll get when the egg heads decide to implement my genius ideas into the next generation?

it just tells you you ran out of coffee or shit needs cleaning without having to actually check it
its a beancounter thing.....
convenient tho

Fancy is a word I’m rarely associated with so you’re probably right.

So when I’m photographing the shop area I always keep an eye on how busy they are and what cars seem to dominate. German shops are always reaaallllyyy busy.
